Lunchtime Explorations

Ophelia had explored the bazaar, and the area around the Wandering Moon, and today she'd decided to see more of The Hub, so she'd set off, and soon found herself in an area that looked rather like a Muggle city. There were the usual sorts of sights and sounds-interesting, but nothing terribly unusual. After she'd been walking around for a bit, Ophelia found that she was getting hungry, so she stopped in at one of the restaurants, one that sold shawarma, which was something that she'd eaten on her trips to the Muggle parts of London, and had enjoyed, so she stopped in and ordered some, then took a seat at one of the tables while she waited on her food.

Humanity had a taste to it. Adhira remembered still what it had been like to be so near as to be indistinguishable from humanity. So when the goddess pulled her power down to the levels on interacting with humans on their level...it brought her back to a time in her life where she had been...happy.

“Do you mind if I join?” Adhira smiled at the young woman; the restaurant was popular and packed, leaving the chair across from her one of the only open ones.

Dressed in an understated (for her) emerald green and gold saree, golden bangles dancing around wrists an ankles she was not the most spectacularly dressed creature on the street but she cut a figure none the less.

"Please, feel free." Ophelia said, smiling at the rather striking woman who'd asked to take the empty seat. Her clothing was quite beautiful, and reminded Ophelia of the things that the Patil girls had worn on special occasions . "I'm Ophelia." she added, with a nod of greeting "Have you been in the Hub long?" she asked. It was, she'd discovered, a fairly common opening remark for a conversation.

The girl was delightfully polite, Adhira shifted gracefully into the empty chair, silk and gold making their own music. The question posed was an interesting one. “I have been in and out of this place for a very long time.” She offered with a friendly smile. “And your self?”

"I arrived here a few weeks ago." Ophelia replied, adding a bit of a self deprecating smile as she added "I was trying to make a travel potion, and it sent me here, instead. I decided to stay and explore, and see what I could learn about the magic from other worlds."

“Oh? An accident?” Her eyebrow rose curiously, “There are few services in hub that work to send people back home when they end up stranded-“ Adhira chuckled, “With varying degrees of success.”

Magic.. “ah so you consider yourself a magician than? What is your skills?”

"As it happened, I met someone from my own world, who had the means of getting me home right away." Ophelia clarified "I did go home, but only for long enough to pack and inform my employer that I'd be taking a leave of absence. I'm here by choice, not because I lack a way to get home."

By here question, it was clear that the woman was familiar with magic, which was interesting, and often rare, in a neighborhood like this one "I'm a witch, yes." Ophelia said, using the term that she'd grown used to using back home "Mainly I make potions, that is what I enjoy most, but I'm also good with charms. In my world we use potions for almost anything that affects the body."

Addy enjoyed people in a way her Mate did not, perhaps because she was not assaulted by their thoughts as he was, perhaps because she was created to be a bride and mother, which included ‚people‘ skills. Or maybe she was just less impatient than he was in general, (an assessment she was sure he would argue with ), but she found herself enjoying the chance encounter with raw humanity.

The woman had some minor trained magical ability, but there was nothing god touched, angelic, or really remarkable about her.

And here in this place that made her remarkable.

„So than are you taking a vacation? Exploring the worlds you can reach through this place? Or starting a business venture?“ She wondered aloud politely curious, those seemed to be the popular options for the creatures that found themselves in this ‚Hub‘.
