It hit Chris sort of hard, to hear that Safi could have, this whole time, thought that Christian was acting as a brother, that his insistence on being friends was due to a miscommunication between them. He had suffered no small amount of angst over the idea of Safi and Tony Stark. Not idea; he was pretty damn certain they were…

Chris stopped that train of thought quickly and almost viciously; it would do no one any good, and he wasn't going to mope in front of Jaya. Not when she was being so nice and smelled so good…

It was natural for Christian to kiss sweetly with a tenderness; you kissed someone you liked, and that meant that of course you'd take care in the act. But Chris wasn't unfamiliar with deeper kisses, either. And desire was an old friend. Being a virgin didn't mean you didn't want more, it just meant you hadn't had everything yet. So when Jaya deepened the kiss, Christian gave a soft, throaty hum and let his hand caress down her back. It was odd, how relaxed he felt, but he certainly wasn't going to complain; this was one of the reasons he liked Jaya’s place so much...

Jaya was glad when Chris didn't respond to her last remark about Safi. Not that she wouldn't have continued the conversation, but his very silence meant that he was thinking about her words. Really considering them, instead of arguing against her.

Oh yes, this was going to be very enjoyable, Jaya thought to herself. He paid attention, and was good at picking up on her cues "Very nice." she said, smiling at him. "You've certainly mastered kissing. Now, I think we should move somewhere more private. Even if we just stick with kissing, a few more like that and we'll start to attract attention, and I don't want us to become a floor show."

Chris liked Jaya, in part because she was always nice to him, but also because she was smart and insightful. So while he didn’t like the thought that part of his problem with Safi was a miscommunication, that he hadn’t been clear enough about what he wanted, that he was being a coward by not talking to Safi directly about it, he did have to admit that it was something that could be entirely valid, and thus he needed to consider it and figure out if it were true or not. And then he needed to figure out how to correct it if it were true.

It was a lot to think about, and right now wasn’t the best time to sit down and do all of that thinking.

He could do that at work, since he didn’t have a project at the moment.

Ever observant and attentive, yes, Christian picked up on her cues and responded accordingly. When Jaya pulled away from the kiss to speak, Christian gave a soft whine, but he didn’t fight her or try to follow, accepting her decision to pull back and speak. And even though he blushed at her words, he was still smiling as he nodded slowly, looking around as though realizing that there were other people there. Because… Yeah, maybe he’d forgotten about them. Being the gentleman and remembering his manners, Christian stood and then offered her his hand to help her up, “Right, sorry. I didn’t… Think.” He let Jaya lead him to wherever ‘more private’ she wanted to take him, ignoring everyone else.

Jaya shivered a little when she heard that little whine of need. It was pleasant to be wanted and needed and desired. Especially with a male who was sweet and attentive as Chris was.

She took his offered hand and stood up, it would be rude to deny him this little show of strength and gallantry. "I'd be a little offended if you had been able to think." Jaya teased gently, before she lead him to one of the rooms that was set aside for coupling. As they walked, she turned up her pheromones a little, so that all he'd be thinking about was pleasure and desire.

Well, he’d never had that effect on anyone before… Jaya’s shiver was read for what it was; enjoyment, even if Christian wasn’t entirely certain what he’d done to cause it. He didn’t consider the small noise he’d made; he made that noise plenty often (he was aware of it, if unable to actually stop it) and it hadn’t gotten the reaction that it had from Jaya, so he didn’t even consider it.

Likewise, he didn’t consider that offering her a hand up was any sort of show of strength; for Chris it was just good manners; it was something that had been drilled into him in the group home, and had stuck with him. He used his manners often in the course of his work, but in moments like this one, he felt it was very appropriate too, and so he minded them with Jaya. He gave her another somewhat shy smile at her comment, and told her quietly, “Well then I’m glad; I certainly wouldn’t like to offend you.” It was a bit of honesty colored with just a hint of flirtation; Christian did know how to flirt, he just didn’t often do so…

By the time they reached the room, Christian was relaxed, happy, and following Jaya along more eagerly, while also just a little bit glad that he didn’t see Belle about; he knew she wouldn’t approve of his decision, and he didn't want to make Jaya's life any more difficult.
